These mummy hot dogs are a fun, kid-friendly Halloween treat made with hot dogs wrapped in crescent roll dough and topped with spooky mustard eyes. Quick to prepare and perfect for parties or family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (8 count) hot dogs
  • 1 can (8 ounces) crescent roll dough
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. Unroll crescent roll dough on a cutting board. Cut each triangle lengthwise into 3 long strips (24 strips total).
  3. Place a hot dog at the end of a dough strip and wrap at a slight angle, leaving about 1 inch of hot dog exposed at the top for the face. Use about 3 strips per hot dog. Place seam-side down on the baking sheet.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together egg and water. Brush egg wash over each wrapped hot dog. Sprinkle with sesame seeds if using.
  5. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown and puffed. Let cool on the baking sheet for 2-3 minutes.
  6. While still warm, dip a toothpick into yellow mustard and dot two small eyes onto the exposed hot dog face. Serve immediately.

Notes

For best results, use standard-sized hot dogs and apply mustard eyes while hot dogs are still warm. Can be prepped up to 2 hours ahead and refrigerated before baking. For air fryer, cook at 350°F for 8-10 minutes.
