These quick witch finger pretzel bites are a fun, spooky snack made with pretzel rods, white chocolate, green food coloring, and almond slivers. Perfect for Halloween parties, they come together in under 15 minutes and are guaranteed to be a conversation starter.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 standard bag pretzel rods (about 3040 rods)
  • 1 cup white chocolate melting wafers (about 200g)
  • 23 drops green gel food coloring
  • ¼ cup sliced almonds (about 30g)
  • Red decorating gel (optional, for blood drips)
  • Edible glitter or luster dust (optional)
  • Parchment paper or silicone baking mat

Instructions

  1. Prep your workstation: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat. Lay out pretzel rods on a separate plate and count out almond slivers (one per pretzel).
  2. Melt the white chocolate: Place white chocolate melting wafers in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals at 50% power, stirring after each interval, until smooth and glossy (about 1.5-2 minutes).
  3. Add the witchy color: Stir in 2-3 drops of green gel food coloring until evenly distributed. Aim for a pale, sickly green.
  4. Dip the pretzels: Hold a pretzel rod by the top end. Dip the bottom two-thirds into the green melted chocolate. Let excess drip off, then place on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat with remaining pretzels.
  5. Attach the fingernails: While the chocolate is still wet, press an almond sliver into the tip of each dipped pretzel, pointed end outward and angled slightly upward. Use tweezers for precision if desired.
  6. Add creepy details (optional): Use a toothpick to create knuckle lines on the chocolate. Add a tiny dab of red decorating gel at the base of the almond for a bloody cuticle effect.
  7. Set the chocolate: Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for 10-15 minutes, or until the chocolate is completely firm. Serve chilled or at room temperature.

Notes

Use gel food coloring instead of liquid to avoid seizing the chocolate. Work in batches of 10-12 pretzels to keep the chocolate from thickening. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free pretzel rods.
