These crispy air fryer bacon wrapped jalapeno poppers are a quick and easy appetizer featuring smoky bacon, creamy cheese filling, and just the right amount of heat. Perfect for parties or a satisfying snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 medium jalapeno peppers, halved and seeded
  • 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup (50 g) sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 12 slices thick-cut bacon
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Toothpicks to secure bacon

Instructions

  1. Cut 12 medium jalapenos in half lengthwise and scoop out seeds and membranes. Rinse and pat dry.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, shredded sharp cheddar, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika (if using), salt, and pepper. Stir until smooth.
  3. Fill each jalapeno half with the cheese mixture, leaving a little room at the top.
  4. Cut bacon slices in half. Wrap each filled jalapeno half with a bacon strip and secure with a toothpick.
  5. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 3 minutes.
  6. Arrange poppers in a single layer in the air fryer basket without overcrowding.
  7. Cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until bacon is crispy and cheese is bubbly. Watch closely after 12 minutes to avoid burning.
  8. Let poppers cool for 2-3 minutes before serving. Remove toothpicks and arrange on a platter.

Notes

Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to ensure even crisping. Flip poppers halfway through cooking. Thick-cut bacon crisps best without burning. You can assemble poppers up to 2 hours ahead and refrigerate before cooking. For milder poppers, remove all jalapeno seeds; leave some seeds for more heat. Baking alternative: bake at 400°F (205°C) on a wire rack for 20-25 minutes.
