A quick and easy recipe for lobster tails cooked in an air fryer to achieve a crispy exterior and tender, buttery meat inside, finished with a bright lemon butter glaze.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 46 oz lobster tails each, fresh or thawed frozen
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (from one medium lemon)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Optional: chopped parsley or chives for garnish

Instructions

  1. Using kitchen shears, carefully cut down the top shell of each lobster tail, stopping just before the tail fin. Gently pull the meat out and lay it on top of the shell. Pat the meat dry with paper towels.
  2. In a small bowl, combine melted unsalted butter, fresh lemon juice, minced garlic, paprika, salt, and pepper. Whisk until fully blended.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (193°C).
  4. Brush the exposed lobster meat generously with the lemon butter glaze using a basting brush.
  5. Place the lobster tails in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook at 380°F for 8 to 10 minutes, brushing with more lemon butter glaze halfway through. Check that the internal temperature reaches 140°F (60°C).
  6. Remove the lobster tails carefully with tongs. Brush once more with lemon butter glaze and sprinkle chopped fresh parsley or chives on top.

Notes

Pat lobster meat dry before cooking to ensure crispiness. Brush lemon butter glaze halfway through cooking for extra flavor and caramelization. Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket for even cooking. Use a meat thermometer to avoid overcooking; lobster is done at 140°F (60°C). For dairy-free, substitute butter with olive oil or coconut oil and omit garlic if sensitive.
