Juicy pork chops with a crunchy, cheesy parmesan crust made quickly and easily in the air fryer for a perfect weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 pork chops, bone-in or boneless, about 1-inch thick
  • 1 cup (100g) panko breadcrumbs (gluten-free optional)
  • 3/4 cup (75g) freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning (oregano, basil, thyme blend)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • Olive oil spray or cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Pat 4 pork chops dry with paper towels to help the crust stick better and crisp up the edges.
  2. In a shallow bowl, combine panko breadcrumbs, grated parmesan, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  3. In another bowl, beat the egg with 1 tablespoon water until smooth.
  4. Dip each pork chop into the egg wash, letting excess drip off, then press firmly into the breadcrumb mixture, coating all sides evenly.
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3-5 minutes.
  6. Lightly spray both sides of each coated pork chop with olive oil spray. Place chops in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between them.
  7. Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 12-14 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crust is golden brown and internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
  8. Let the pork chops rest for 3-5 minutes before serving to allow juices to redistribute.

Notes

Dry pork chops thoroughly before coating to ensure crust sticks. Use fresh grated parmesan for best flavor and crust texture. Lightly spray olive oil on crust for even crisping. Use a meat thermometer to avoid overcooking. Do not overcrowd air fryer basket for best results. Leftovers reheat well in air fryer at 350°F for 3-5 minutes to restore crispness.
