A quick and easy air fryer salmon recipe featuring a crispy skin and a sticky, savory honey garlic glaze that balances sweet and savory flavors perfectly.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 salmon fillets, skin-on, about 6 ounces (170 grams) each
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (low-sodium preferred)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Brush both sides lightly with olive oil and season generously with salt and pepper.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes if using. Set aside.
  4. Place the salmon fillets skin-side down in the air fryer basket. Cook for 7 minutes. Check if the skin is crisp and golden; if not, cook for 1-2 more minutes.
  5. Flip the salmon fillets over carefully and brush generously with the honey garlic glaze. Cook an additional 3-4 minutes until the glaze is bubbly and the salmon flakes easily with a fork (internal temperature about 145°F / 63°C).
  6. Remove the salmon and let it rest for 2 minutes before serving.

Notes

Pat salmon dry thoroughly to ensure crispy skin. Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket. If glaze is too thin, simmer briefly on stove to thicken before brushing. Let salmon rest 2 minutes after cooking to redistribute juices. For gluten-free option, substitute tamari for soy sauce. Leftovers can be reheated in air fryer at 350°F for 3-4 minutes to maintain crispiness.
