A quick and impressive fall cocktail made with apple cider and sparkling wine, finished with a cinnamon sugar rim. Ready in just 10 minutes, it’s perfect for any autumn gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 oz apple cider per glass
  • 4 oz sparkling wine or champagne per glass
  • 2–3 ice cubes per glass (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 lemon or orange wedge per glass
  • Optional garnishes: apple slices, cinnamon sticks, fresh rosemary sprigs, star anise

Instructions

  1. In a small shallow dish, combine 2 tablespoons granulated sugar and 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon. Mix thoroughly.
  2. Run a lemon or orange wedge around the rim of each glass to moisten.
  3. Dip the moistened rim into the cinnamon sugar mixture, twisting gently for even coverage. Tap off excess and set upright.
  4. If using ice, add 2-3 cubes to each glass.
  5. Fill each glass about halfway with apple cider (approximately 4 oz).
  6. Slowly pour sparkling wine over the cider, filling the glass to about 3/4 full. Pour gently to preserve bubbles and avoid disturbing the rim.
  7. Add optional garnishes (apple slice, cinnamon stick, rosemary sprig, or star anise) and serve immediately.

Notes

Chill all ingredients beforehand for best results. Pour cider first, then sparkling wine to preserve bubbles. Serve immediately as the rim softens after 10-15 minutes. For a non-alcoholic version, substitute sparkling apple cider or dry ginger ale.
