These ham sliders combine sweet Hawaiian rolls, savory ham, and melted cheese with a buttery mustard glaze, making them perfect for quick snacks, parties, or casual dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12-count pack Hawaiian Rolls (King’s Hawaiian recommended)
  • 12 to 15 slices thinly sliced deli ham (smoked or honey-glazed optional)
  • 8 oz shredded Swiss or cheddar cheese (or a mix)
  • 1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon poppy seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally using a sharp knife, cutting through all rolls at once. Place the bottom half in a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  3. Layer the ham evenly over the bottom half of the rolls.
  4. Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over the ham.
  5. Place the top half of the rolls over the cheese layer and press down gently to compact slightly without squishing.
  6. In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and poppy seeds (if using). Stir until well blended.
  7. Brush the butter mixture generously over the top of the rolls, making sure it seeps into the nooks and crannies.
  8. Bake uncovered for 15-20 minutes until the tops are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Remove from oven and let the sliders rest for 5 minutes to set the cheese.
  10. Cut between the rolls with a sharp knife and serve warm.

Notes

Slice rolls while still connected in the package for easier assembly. Brush butter glaze thoroughly for a golden crust. Avoid overloading with ham or cheese to prevent sogginess. Tent with foil if tops brown too quickly. Let sliders rest after baking for better texture. Can be assembled ahead and refrigerated unbaked; add glaze before baking next day.
