Quick and easy turkey and cheese pinwheel roll-ups perfect for snacks, lunchboxes, or parties. These bite-sized roll-ups combine cream cheese, turkey, and cheddar cheese for a savory, satisfying treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 large flour tortillas (10-inch size; whole wheat or gluten-free options also work)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs (oregano, basil, thyme blend)
  • 12 oz sliced turkey breast (deli-style, preferably low sodium)
  • 8 oz sliced cheddar cheese (sharp or mild)
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped green onions (optional)
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Optional add-ins: thinly sliced bell peppers, honey mustard or favorite sandwich spread

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine softened cream cheese, garlic powder, dried Italian herbs, and freshly ground black pepper. Mix until smooth and evenly blended (about 2 minutes).
  2. Lay each tortilla flat on a clean surface. Spread a generous, even layer of the cream cheese mixture over the entire surface using a butter knife or spatula (about 5 minutes for all tortillas).
  3. Arrange slices of turkey breast evenly over the cream cheese layer, leaving about a half-inch border around the edges. Layer cheese slices on top of the turkey. Sprinkle optional green onions or bell peppers if using (5-7 minutes).
  4. Starting from one edge, roll each tortilla tightly into a cylinder, applying gentle pressure to keep it snug without tearing. Wrap each rolled tortilla in plastic wrap and chill for 15 minutes to set (optional but recommended).
  5. Using a sharp knife, slice each roll into 1-inch thick pinwheels, yielding about 8 slices per roll. Arrange pinwheels on a serving platter (about 5 minutes).

Notes

Softened cream cheese is key to avoid tearing tortillas. Chill roll-ups before slicing for cleaner cuts and better shape. Use fresh, pliable tortillas to prevent cracking. Variations include swapping turkey for roasted vegetables for a vegetarian version or using pepper jack cheese for a spicy twist. Roll-ups can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for up to 2 days or frozen for longer storage.
