This easy crockpot honey garlic chicken is a sticky, savory-sweet dish made with just three ingredients: chicken, honey, and soy sauce. Perfect for busy weeknights, it’s a set-it-and-forget-it meal that delivers tender, flavorful chicken every time.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • ½ cup honey
  • ⅓ cup low-sodium soy sauce

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels. Trim excess fat if desired. Place chicken in the bottom of a 4 to 6 quart crockpot in a single layer.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together honey and soy sauce until fully combined.
  3. Pour the honey-soy mixture evenly over the chicken. Use a spoon to coat each piece if needed.
  4. Cook on low for 4 to 5 hours. After about 3 hours, use tongs to flip each piece of chicken.
  5. At the 4-hour mark, check the internal temperature of the thickest piece. Chicken is safe at 165°F. Thighs can go up to 170°F or 175°F without drying out.
  6. For a thicker glaze, remove chicken to a plate and cover loosely with foil. Pour remaining sauce from crockpot into a small saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and let bubble for 8 to 10 minutes until reduced and thickened. Pour back over chicken before serving.
  7. Serve immediately, spooning sauce over the chicken.

Notes

For best results, use chicken thighs instead of breasts to avoid dryness. Flip the chicken halfway through cooking for even coating. For a thicker glaze, reduce the sauce on the stovetop. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days; reheat in a covered skillet with a splash of water or broth.
