A quick and fun snack featuring hot dogs wrapped in crescent roll dough to look like mummies, perfect for kids and parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Hot Dogs (regular or beef, natural casing preferred)
  • 1 package crescent roll dough (8 oz or 226g)
  • Cheese slices (optional, cheddar or mozzarella)
  • Mustard or ketchup (for decorating eyes)
  • Olive oil or butter (optional, for brushing dough before baking)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Open the crescent roll package and unroll the dough onto a clean surface. Slice the dough lengthwise into thin strips about 1/4 inch (0.6 cm) wide.
  3. Wrap dough strips around each hot dog, leaving small gaps to mimic mummy bandages. If using cheese, tuck a thin slice along the hot dog before wrapping.
  4. Place each wrapped mummy on a prepared baking sheet, leaving space between them.
  5. Optionally, lightly brush the dough with melted butter or olive oil for extra golden color and flavor.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the dough is golden brown and fully cooked.
  7. Remove from oven and let cool for a few minutes. Dab tiny dots of mustard or ketchup where the eyes should go.
  8. Serve warm with favorite dipping sauces such as ranch, ketchup, or mustard.

Notes

Watch the mummies closely after 12 minutes as ovens vary and dough can brown quickly. Do not add mustard or ketchup before baking to avoid burning. Leftover dough strips can be baked separately for crispy snacks. For gluten-free or vegan options, substitute crescent dough and hot dogs accordingly.
