Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 to 1.5 pounds (450-680g) fresh strawberries, firm and ripe with green tops
  • 12 oz (340g) semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips or bars
  • 4 oz (115g) white chocolate for drizzling (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon (14g) unsalted butter
  • 2025 wooden skewers or floral picks
  • Floral foam or Styrofoam block to fit inside the box
  • Decorative box or container for arranging the bouquet
  • Optional toppings: crushed nuts (pistachios, almonds), shredded coconut, or sprinkles
  • Wax or parchment paper for setting dipped strawberries

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry strawberries thoroughly to remove all moisture (about 10 minutes).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment or wax paper. Place floral foam or Styrofoam block inside the gift box. Insert wooden skewers into each strawberry, leaving enough stick exposed.
  3. Melt semi-sweet chocolate chips and butter in a microwave-safe bowl in 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth and glossy (about 2-3 minutes). Alternatively, melt over a double boiler.
  4. Dip each skewered strawberry into the melted chocolate, swirling gently to coat evenly. Tap off excess chocolate and place on the parchment-lined baking sheet.
  5. Before chocolate sets, sprinkle optional toppings or drizzle melted white chocolate over the dipped strawberries.
  6. Allow strawberries to set at room temperature or in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes until firm but not cold to the touch.
  7. Arrange the dipped strawberries by inserting the skewers into the floral foam inside the box, creating a balanced bouquet shape.
  8. Optionally wrap the bouquet with clear cellophane or add a ribbon. Keep refrigerated if not consumed within a few hours.

Notes

Dry strawberries thoroughly to prevent chocolate from seizing or sliding off. Melt chocolate slowly and stir often to avoid overheating. Use skewers for easier dipping and bouquet arrangement. Reheat chocolate gently if it thickens during dipping. Avoid refrigerating bouquet too long to prevent moisture buildup and dull chocolate shine.
